If you're not the type of bidder who plans on repeatedly returning to an auction to ensure that no one has outbid you, you can place a proxy bid. To place a proxy bid, just state the highest price you're willing to pay for an item in the "maximum bid" box and Auction will sneakily take care of the rest.
